FAQ - Dr. Gallardo's Counseling Services"

  • After COVID-19, DR Gallardo began offering online video therapy. Her patients found it more convenient than face-to-face sessions, and none wanted to return.

    No in-office services.

  • I’m taking new patients only for the following insurance: Optum, Optum EAP, UMR, and United Health and other EAP, Medicaid. send me an email if you have more questions. drgallardo@familycare-cs.com or text me at 615-212-5166.

If you prefer not to use insurance, then check my self-payment fee. use this link to book https://drannettegallardoOnlinewithDRG.as.me/familycare

If you want to use your insurance, please don't book online.

  • First, I offer self-payment for two reasons. One is I want to make my services available

to clients without insurance. Second, Most of my clients believe that the therapeutic

relationship should remain between the clinician and the client. When insurance

companies get involved, a mental health diagnosis is required, which may become part

of your permanent medical record. This can be stigmatizing and create issues getting

treatment in the future. Additionally, insurance may mandate a specific intervention or

only allow a certain number of sessions. By not accepting insurance, we can work

together to determine the best treatment approach for you, with the type and length of

    sessions needed.

  • I do NOT prescribe medication. If you are interested in starting medication, I will work

with you in our sessions to see if it is beneficial for you and refer you to a Psychiatrist or

Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) who is an expert in prescribing medication for mental health

  • I'm sorry, but giving a general answer to this question is impossible. Each person's

situation is unique, and the length of time needed to achieve your goals with counseling

depends on various factors, including your personal desire for growth, commitment, and

the reasons driving you to seek counseling

  • Couples counseling is focused on treating relationship issues that are connected to psychiatric disorders based on medical necessity. This means the treatment is centered around managing diagnosed mental health conditions.

Coaching is different—it’s action-focused and future-oriented. We don’t focus on diagnoses but instead provide practical tools and guidance right from the first session to help couples set goals, improve communication, and build healthier, happier relationships.
